Recently (June 2010) Dutch guidelines for mechanical drilling have been established to avoid soil and groundwater contaminations due to uncontrolled mechanical drilling. Sialtech is the first company that has recieved a certificate according to these guidelines.
Every day in The Netherlands a lot of mechanical drillings are performed for various purposes. These drillings may cause severe damage to soil and groundwater when excecuted carelessly. Therefore the Dutch Government has developed legislation, that says that from January 1, 2011 mechanical drillings for environmental research, for heat/cold storage, for groundwater investigations and extractions and for experimental puposes may only be executed by approved companies.
To become authorized to perform these mechanical drillings, an independent certification body must declare that the company meets the demands of these guidelines. Sialtech is the first company that has been given such a certificate.
